At just 20 months old, Sylis was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), a rare disorder that causes an overproduction of Langerhans cells, which can form tumors or damage tissue. He bravely underwent weekly chemotherapy and steroids, and after a relapse in October 2024, his family traveled to Cincinnati to enroll him in a clinical trial with a new treatment approach.
Today, Sylis is joyfully cleared for another year, a milestone his family celebrates with immense gratitude. Despite everything he has faced, Sylis is an energetic and curious little boy who loves to build things and is fascinated by anything with wheels, including cars, trucks and firetrucks. His favorite color is bright, cheerful green, perfectly matching his vibrant spirit.
He now has one heartfelt wish to “go on a big boat.” Sylis dreams of setting sail on a carnival cruise with his family and creating happy memories far from hospitals and treatments.
