Maddox was a healthy baby, but at just 9 months old, a fall led to a skull fracture and emergency surgery. Further testing revealed he has Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type V- a rare genetic disorder that causes fragile bones, chronic pain, and fatigue. He now receives bisphosphonate infusions every six months at Boston Children's Hospital and has endured many fractures over the years.
Maddox misses out on a lot, but you'd never know it - he's full of joy, always smiling, and never lets his condition define him. He loves golf, baseball, drawing, swimming, video games, anime, and reading science fiction.
His biggest dream is to go to Disney with his family, and he's so excited for his upcoming trip to Give Kids the World Village, where he'll finally get a chance to just be a kid and make magical memories to last a lifetime.
